Step 1: Access Google Latitude website from your cell phone; for doing this, you have to download Google Latitude functions on your phone.
Step 2: Also configure your Google account with Google Latitude. You may follow the instructions provided on your cell phone for helping you with the configuration process.
Step 3: Access Google Latitude website from your desktop or laptop.
Step 4: Have the Google Latitude widget on your iGoogle page, so that it can be used on your desktop as well as laptop.
Step 5: Click the button from widget which says 'Add Friends'. By doing this, you can add all the contacts to the list from your Google account.
Step 6: You will also find an icon in front of the contacts that are using Google Latitude as well. If you want to add contacts who do not use Google Latitude, you may click their names and send them an invitation through email.
Step 7: After they accept your request, you will see their location on the map. As the people keep traveling to separate places with their cell phones, the location information will also keep changing.
Step 8: You can open Google Maps and select 'My Maps' option on the left side of your window screen.
Step 9: Create the map and save it. You will find the 'View in Google Earth' option; select the option.
Step 10: The map will be downloaded in a .KML file which can be opened in Google Earth later.
